out side view

this is what I see from the out side of my window when its snowing
well the truck is not always there..
and the veil of light is due to the flash... but I kind of like it..
in the picture you can beryl see but there is a net that reflects the light
we also have bars in the window to keep us safe and remind us that we are in a free country

too cold outside to take pictures...

I have only now discovered what COLD means.

My sweetheart found a nice cinema theater in New York. Angelika in 18 West Houston Street, Soho (or at least near by). Not to big, not to crowded, has a nice coffee shop with tables in the main atrium and plays non commercial cinema. We went to watch an adaptation from Shakespeare's fantastical thriller The tempest. Not bad... just strange... Takes long to enter the narrative, archaic English does not help (even  if it is beautiful to hear) nor do the corny special effects (not so great to watch). Other then that it was pretty good. Either way, except for central heated home, cinemas are the best place to be when its treating to snow. I wanted to take a picture from the theatre but it was so cold I lost my guts. All I have documented from getting out of the house is me, testing the batteries of my camera, in the theatre toilets... disgraceful... oh and the batteries stink, they barely lasted 3 minutes.

Thanksgiving

being this, as it is, my first time in the United States, I've only known thanksgiving from the movies. Filipe has a few days of and we were a bit lost not knowing what to do for the holidays. fortunately we were invited by a couple of American friends to spend thanksgiving with them. we had a really nice diner, I loved the stuffed squash, and a pleasant evening. so thanksgiving is now dismistified, as far as I am concerned, as a nice excuse to cook for and spend some time with friends. I look forward for next year's..

Bergen Street Comics

I here by declare Bergen Street Comics to be my favorite comics shop in New York. having found it today I decided to finally start on a manga author I have been wanting to reed for some time. so I bough the first volume of Tezuka's Dororo. The cover is beautiful and the paper feels and smells great...
the story is sweet even if the background is a rather dark one.

lost at new york

it is been a week since I have arrived to new york and I'm still trying to understand how the city works.
it is overwhelming and tiring just to walk the streets.

I have this feeling of being inside a movie I'm not staring in...

the high light of the week was, so far, watching the squirrels in union square..

new york is not to blame. I will, of course, feel better once I settle down and start working on my things and on my etsy shop
